Slow Twitch Birding shares stories of birding adventures in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, with a focus on fossil-fuel-free birding by bike, kayak, or on foot. Walk, crawl, roll, somersault, we don’t care as long as you get out there and revel in nature! As all birders are (at least subconsciously) scientists and general naturalists, you’ll see occasional posts about bird biology or other aspects of Bay Area natural history.
Rob Furrow has been birding by bike and on foot throughout the bay area for the past 5 years. When he’s not trying to finish his PhD in evolutionary biology at Stanford, he’s brainstorming how to set a new green big day record for the US (with other green birding wizards like Josiah Clark, Andy Kleinhesselink, and Logan Kahle). He loves birding by ear above all else, so expect plenty of writing about bird songs and calls.
